Preschool Class

Welcome!

My name is Christy “CiCi” Cooper and I’ve been the teacher for the Preschool class here at Calvary since 2007.

I’ve served families in a variety of ways including structured full day programs, private nanny positions, home childcare and cultural awareness workshops. I hold a degree in Human Services with an emphasis on Child Development and have been involved in the education of young children since 1989.

I enjoy the diversity the cooperative experience brings and encourage you to share in the commitment with your child.

Our Preschool class is designed to give your 3/4 year old child a balanced preschool program by introducing them to new experiences daily. Some of these activities include:

*Art,tactile and science projects ~ come dressed for a messy good time.

*Discovery of our environment with field trips to places like the pumpkin patch, fire station, OMSI and neighborhood walks ~ we go rain or shine.

*Skill building of numbers, letters and shapes through fun games and self discovery activities.

*Mastering self help skills~ we aid in the feeling of accomplishment by encouraging hand washing, table clearing and putting on your own coat (just to name a few).

*Social skills building by learning to work and play together with others, sharing, making friends and following directions.

We accomplish this and more with carefully planned games and projects designed to promote learning through play in a child centered program that is enhanced by your commitment and time shared in the classroom.
